Dana SAM supported Aliansyah Caniago’s participation in an intensive one-month visual arts workshop with Joan Jonas in 2016. This program was held at Villa Iris, Santander, Spain with selected participants from various countries in Europe, Asia and America. During the activity, each participant was invited to experiment and incubate several works in the joint studio so that it was hoped that they would gain new views and approaches from the workshop. During the activity, every morning of the first week a work presentation was held and each participant gave feedback to each participant’s work. In the following week, each participant is invited to tour the city and make works in the designated places. At the end of the activity, each participant presented their final work at Villa Iris, Santander.
