Danarto dkk. participated in the 17th Istanbul Biennial curated by Ute Meta Bauer, Amar Kanwar and David Teh, Instead of proposing a theme or title, this edition of the biennial offered a process: composting, where a number of artists and initiatives are invited to share and develop their practices. The biennial serves as a seedbed for a few months or so, to sew, transplant, nurture, and fertilise, to see what sprouts.
Since September, 2020, Danarto dkk. have devised a rhythm and routine in keeping with Danarto’s practice – exchanging, collecting and vetting archival documents, uncovering objects, stories and new readings of Danarto’s multidisciplinary oeuvre .For the biennial, Danarto dkk. connects with contemporary thinkers from Turkey, including musicians, poets and graphic artists, to realise a new context for Danarto’s legacy. This entire dialogue process is presented in the Taman Bacaan Danarto Barin Han (Danarto’s reading garden at Barin Han). In addition to the archival exhibition, Taman Bacaan Danarto Barin Han is rendering a series of public programmes, including:
