Together with Oknum Media Kolektif, Benny Wicaksono presented REKOMBINAN through a 24-hour website access. Prompted by the digital data of SARS-CoV-2 protein makeup, this work was built using primary data of genetic sequential code in the DNA of the virus. Information for this work was sourced from the US National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website under the search code, “NC_045512”: the first related-data uploaded which mark the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. As for the visualisation method, this work is inspired by- and adopted- the first photographic image of DNA done by molecular biologist: geometric shapes with double twist which is now known as the Double Helix. This interactive work presented audience with the harrowing yet fascinating pattern of the COVID-19 virus spread and mutation.
