To support curatorial research and practice in Indonesia, Selasar Sunaryo Art Space (SSAS) held an open call for the 2016 SSAS Curatorial Research Grant. This grant scheme aims to facilitate curators in Indonesia to conduct research that will become a basis for thinking about the realization of an art exhibition.

Bandung New Emergence (BNE) is a regular exhibition initiated and organized by Selasar Sunaryo Art Space every two years which aims to map the development of contemporary art in Bandung through the works of young artists. The curatorial research proposed for the 2016 SSAS Curatorial Grant is expected to become the rationale behind the concept and organization of the BNE #6 exhibition in 2016.
